Build deep relationships

True to YDWC core values, our Summer Retreat is unique, in that it engages BAME professionals from across a range of industry sectors. Oftentimes for BAME professionals the essence of their diversity is reduced to physical traits and cultural identifiers. At YDWC we believe in harnessing diversity of thought and embracing our members experiences and perspectives without undermining their individuality.

The sharing of experiences and insights amongst an eclectic range of professionals, creates an invaluable knowledge exchange which provides our members with new skills and fresh outlooks. We have found this short break leaves participants feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, helping them to develop valuable soft skills and the emotional intelligence, to perform better in their role, and ultimately progress in their career.

An inclusive environment

We offer participants the opportunity to both attend and co-ordinate workshops, most of which are themed around a particular area of interest, be it related to their professional role or personal experience. The format of these sessions can take any form, from seminars to group activities, or even problem-solving challenges and outdoor team building. From these experiences, in addition to gaining the communication skills to influence others and increase impact, participants leave feeling more confident with an expanded network of peers and authentic long-lasting connections.
