On the 9th of June 2022, Lord Hastings warmly invites leaders from all industries to attend a debate hosted in the houses of Parliament entitled "This House believes that race significantly impacts meritocratic progression within modern Britain". This debate will take place at 7 pm. Further information will be provided to those who successfully apply for a ticket.

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again... The idea of meritocracy has redefined political discourse since the term was coined by Michael Young in 1958. More than 60 years on, accusations of racial inequality still linger in modern Britain. In a society where wealth, education, and connections are crucial, the merit of meritocracy is called into question. In modern Britain, do professionals face significantly greater challenges based on their race?
