Who we are
Young Diverse World Changers (YDWC) is a professional network designed by, run by, and dedicated to professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds. At YDWC we understand the unique challenges faced by those of us who are underrepresented in competitive professions, and created this platform to empower our peers with the tools, knowledge and connections to overcome structural barriers. We are a diverse collective of leaders, deep thinkers, free spirits and visionaries, coming together to embrace the true essence of our personal and cultural identities.

Knowledge is Power
Today, many of the world’s most influential firms and organisations do not reflect the society we live in, nor do they reflect the international markets in which they operate.
Solving the most important societal challenges requires dialogue which is both constructive and challenging. From optimising the fourth industrial revolution to addressing the threat of Climate Change or rebalancing social inequalities; the world needs the innovators and free thinkers from a wide variety of backgrounds who will develop ground-breaking solutions. Embracing diversity is not simply advisable, it is imperative.
YDWC is a community of professionals, where peers empower peers with the information that enables them to make progress in their personal and professional lives. Our view is that “we can go fast alone, we can go far together”; personal and professional challenges are easier to overcome when you have a community full of knowledge at your disposal.
Your network is your net worth
YDWC creates a forum to discuss the topics that people desperately seek to discuss, which are seemingly not being discussed elsewhere, with people who passionately wish to discuss them.
A random conversation with someone you would be unlikely to meet in your current work circles can be the driving impetus of a life-changing decision, a lucrative investment, or even the start of a strong and long-lasting relationship. Conversely, a random conversation could simply spark an interest in something completely unexpected that excites you with no professional connection whatsoever.
Members of YDWC form a peer to peer resource which provides all members with honest challenge and valuable insights. Moreover, members of YDWC form a ‘support network’ that creates an environment of mutual-encouragement and motivation; necessary to overcome difficult personal and professional circumstances. Our network is bursting with talented and ambitious people who continuously seek out new people and opportunities to learn and grow.

Our members belong to the global talent pool which will play an integral role in delivering value to organisations who are leading the global response to challenges in healthcare, education, finance and many other industries. YDWC offers our members the opportunity to engage in the conversations that will meaningfully change the working environment that they seek to progress within as well as the chance to contribute to the ideas that will positively transform the society that they seek to flourish within.
There is no better time than the present
According to the Resolution Foundation, the existence of an Ethnicity Pay Gap means that the BAME workforce collectively loses an average of £3.2bn a year. The Pay Gap has not only impacted the living standards of these workers, but it also represents an undervaluation of the thoughts, experience and expertise that they bring to the workplace.
Each member of YDWC plays a critical role in building a new legacy; engaging with a diverse array of people who are changing the world through a wide variety of ventures. Every workplace has an active responsibility to uphold values that reflect the best interests of the employees that work for them, the customers they sell to and the communities that they serve. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr, “now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all”.
